Rishi Sunak wins Round 2 of the Conservative Party’s leadership contest

After the UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation on July 7, the Conservative Party started the process of choosing the country’s next leader. Among the top contenders is the 42-year-old former chancellor and British-Indian Rishi Sunak. He led the latest round of votes by garnering the support of 101 MPs while Junior Trade Minister Penny Mordaunt came second with 83 votes followed by Foreign Secretary Liz Truss who had 64 votes
