Barmer police have apprehended two main suspects involved in the kidnapping at a Spa Center on Utralai Road. The District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Digant Anand IPS, disclosed that following directives to capture the perpetrators, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Satyendrapal Singh and Mr. Anand Singh, under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent Rajpurohit Vrit Barmer, led police teams. The concerted efforts led to the arrest of Omprakash and Ashok Kumar, the primary individuals behind the abduction.
The incident unfolded on the night of January 7th, wherein assailants arrived in a Creta vehicle, fired at the Utralai Road Spa Center, and forcefully abducted a girl, identified as Mr. Dhanjay Ram Valmiki’s daughter from Goyal, Bihar. The case was registered at Rico Barmer Police Station, prompting immediate investigation.
Responding to the severity of the situation, Superintendent Digant Anand personally reached the scene, gathered crucial details, and orchestrated a comprehensive district-wide search operation. The swift action resulted in the kidnappers abandoning the girl on the highway between Utralai and Baytu, subsequently apprehended by the police.
Following a comprehensive search in various locations, the police, acting on intelligence, arrested Omprakash and Ashok Kumar in Sarhad Kuship. The detained suspects are identified as Omprakash, residing in Jatiya Potters Colony, and Ashok Kumar from Ambawadi Shiv in Barmer.
Both accused individuals have a history of criminal activities, with Ashok Kumar facing 10 cases, including drug trafficking, Excise Act violations, thefts, and assault. Omprakash, on the other hand, has two registered cases under the NDPS Act and attempt to murder.
The police continue their investigation and interrogation of the accused.
