Sisodia calls excise policy case ‘fabricated’, alleges ‘Operation Lotus’; CBI refutes allegations
Delhi News Today Live Updates, October 17: The main agenda behind the excise policy case is ‘Operation Lotus’, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said Monday evening after walking out of the CBI’s office following nine hours of interrogation. The case on the excise policy is “completely fake and fabricated”, he added. Addressing the media at his Mathura Road residence Monday evening, Sisodia said, “During the questioning hour, I understood that this not a case about the excise policy or corruption…This was about Operation Lotus….They wanted me to quit the party and join BJP,” Sisodia added.” Sisodia went to the CBI headquarters in the national capital on Monday following the central agency’s summons in connection with excise policy case.
However, the CBI refuted Sisodia’s allegations made by regarding CBI pressurising him to quit AAP and join the BJP. “Some sections of the media have aired a video in which, after leaving the CBI office, Shri Manish Sisodia has stated on camera that during his questioning in CBI, he was threatened to leave his political party and similar such insinuations,” the statement by CBI spokesperson said. “CBI strongly refutes these allegations and reiterates that examination of Shri Sisodia was carried out in a professional and legal manner strictly as per the allegations against him in the FIR. The investigation of the case will continue as per law,” the statement added.
